Privacy Policy

Kintsugi doesn’t collect any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the app contains no third-party code.

What stays on your device

Your progress (the pieces you’ve mended, your stars, gold leaf, streak and settings) is saved on your device. A copy is kept in your own iCloud account through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage, so your iPhone and iPad stay in step. We can’t see or access it.

Game Center

If you’re signed in to Game Center, your Daily Break times and achievements are sent to Game Center, which Apple runs. Friends you’ve added in Game Center can see them. The app only looks at your Game Center friends if you ask to see their times, and iOS asks your permission first. You can sign out of Game Center in the Settings app at any time.

Camera

“View in your room” uses Apple’s AR Quick Look, which shows your mended piece on a real surface through the camera. iOS asks your permission the first time. The camera view is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.

Photos

If you choose to save a picture or video of a piece, it’s added to your photo library. The app can add to your library but can’t see what’s in it.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, it’s scheduled on your device as a local notification. Nothing is sent to us.

Crash and performance reports

iOS gives the app daily reports about crashes, hangs and battery use. They’re kept on your device, and only sent anywhere if you choose to share them from Settings › Share diagnostics, and then only to whoever you send them to. If you’ve agreed to share analytics with app developers in the iOS Settings app, Apple may also pass on crash reports, as with any app.

Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details; the App Store only tells the app which items you’re entitled to.

Sharing

Sharing a picture, video or 3D model of a piece uses the standard iOS share sheet. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to send it.

Children

Kintsugi is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Settings › Reset all progress clears your progress on all your devices. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the device.

This website

This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party services. Our host, Cloudflare, handles the network requests needed to deliver the pages.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
